It's important for us to let you know that we are truly a "family owned" restaurant that is operated by
Manny, Florine (Manny’s Sister) & Ricardo (Florine’s Husband).
Manny’s Tex (open since 2000) specializes in authentic Homestyle Tex Mex like Mama use to cook.
Manny is an accomplished chef, with over 3 decades of experience. In fact, all of our tex mex recipes are Manny’s and have been accumulated in his 35 years of experience in Kitchens with some of the most popular Family Restaurants in the Dallas Metroplex. In the 80’s, Manny managed all the kitchens for Al Veras Tex Mex Restaurants. Then, in the 90’s, Manny was asked to join an ownership group and open the popular Sherman Tex Mex Restaurant, La Mexa. In 2000 Manny asked his Sister Florine and her husband to partner with him and open Manny’s Tex Mex Restaurant in the Historic District of Downtown Frisco.
Florine and Ricardo have owned and operated
Restaurants in the Dallas Metroplex since 1973.
In 2000 they partnered with Manny to (semi retire)
and to get back to the basics of running a Family
Restaurant.
Florine’s expertise is the Restaurant décor, back
of the house accounting and Front of the house
Management. Ricardo worked in his own
Restaurant Kitchens for 12 years and is
accomplished in Tex Mex Recipes and front
of the house operations.
In 1973 they opened their first Restaurant, Galvans El Unico, which was a Mexican Buffet. They opened with a Grand Opening Special of .99 All You Can Eat. Their most popular concept was the successful Ricardo’s Tex Mex in far North Dallas.
Florine & Ricardo have been very active in the Restaurant Industry. Florine served as President of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association in the early 90’s and served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Restaurant Association. Ricardo also served as President of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association and President of the Texas Restaurant Association. In 1988 he was voted as Restauranteur of the Year in Dallas and 2006 he was inducted into the prestigious Texas Restaurant Association Hall of Honor.
